जब आप apartment देखने जाते हैं, तो असल जरूरत “perfect English” की नहीं होती। आपको बस इतना चाहिए कि आप साफ़ तौर पर पूछ सकें: कितना rent है, क्या-क्या शामिल है, और किसी corner में problem तो नहीं है। ऐसे मौके पर छोटे, सीधे phrases ज्यादा काम आते हैं।
Apartment visit में सबसे पहले क्या पूछें
अगर सामने agent, landlord, या building staff है, तो conversation बहुत औपचारिक होने की जरूरत नहीं होती। आप politely और सीधे पूछ सकते हैं:
- I’m here to view the apartment.
- Is this apartment still available?
- Can I take a look around?
- How much is the rent?
- Are utilities included?
यहाँ view the apartment का मतलब है apartment को देखने जाना, यानी visit करना। take a look around बहुत natural phrase है; यह casual है, लेकिन rude नहीं।
अगर आपको थोड़ा समय चाहिए, तो कह सकते हैं:
- Can I look in the kitchen and bathroom too?
- Can I check the windows?
- Would it be okay if I opened the cabinets?
यहाँ Would it be okay if…? थोड़ा polite है। किसी की property देखते समय यह अच्छा लगता है, खासकर अगर आप कुछ खोलकर या ध्यान से check करना चाहते हैं।
कमरे देखते समय क्या कहें
बहुत बार लोग सिर्फ ऊपर-ऊपर देख लेते हैं, फिर बाद में कोई issue निकल आता है। इसलिए English में कुछ basic checking phrases याद रखना useful है:
- The room looks bright.
- Is there enough storage space?
- Does the apartment get good natural light?
- Is the water pressure okay?
- Does the heating work well?
ध्यान दें, Does the apartment get good natural light? थोड़ा formal-सा लग सकता है, लेकिन apartment viewing में यह बिल्कुल normal है। अगर आपको सीधा बोलना है, तो Is there enough light? भी कह सकते हैं।
अगर आपको कोई समस्या दिखे, तो बात को साफ़ रखें:
- I notice a stain on the wall.
- This window doesn’t close properly.
- The bathroom seems a little small.
- Is that noise from the street always this loud?
यहाँ I notice… और It seems… soft, polite way हैं। आप सीधे “This is a problem” कहने के बजाय पहले observe करते हैं। इससे बातचीत टकराव वाली नहीं लगती।
Rent, deposit, और conditions पर कैसे पूछें
Apartment देखने के समय rent के साथ बाकी terms भी clear कर लेना बेहतर होता है। अगर आप केवल rent सुनकर आगे बढ़ गए, तो बाद में extra charges surprises बन सकते हैं। इसलिए ये phrases काम आते हैं:
- What is the security deposit?
- How long is the lease?
- Is there a minimum stay?
- Are pets allowed?
- Is parking included?
- Who should I contact if something breaks?
अगर आप move-in date confirm करना चाहते हैं:
- When is the apartment available?
- Can I move in next month?
- How soon do you need a decision?
यहाँ move in verb है, और move-in date noun phrase की तरह use होता है। Apartment viewing में यह distinction practical है, क्योंकि आपको availability और deadline दोनों समझने होते हैं।
अगर आप rent वाली बातचीत को थोड़ा और detail में समझना चाहते हैं, तो Rent के बारे में पूछने के लिए English phrases भी helpful रहेंगे।
अगर आप किसी problem पर सवाल करना चाहें
कभी-कभी viewing के दौरान बिजली, plumbing, या maintenance से जुड़ा कोई issue दिख जाता है। तब direct लेकिन polite English अच्छा काम करती है:
- Has there been any plumbing issue here?
- Has the electricity been reliable?
- Who handles repairs?
- How quickly are problems usually fixed?
अगर आपको specifically किसी leak, tap, या pipe issue पर बात करनी हो, तो Plumbing problem के लिए काम आने वाले English phrases देखना उपयोगी रहेगा। और अगर building में power supply को लेकर doubt हो, तो बिजली की दिक्कत बताने के लिए English phrases भी काम आएँगे।
बातचीत को natural रखने का तरीका
Apartment देखने के समय लंबे sentences बोलने की जरूरत नहीं होती। अक्सर एक simple question, एक short follow-up, और एक polite response काफी होता है। उदाहरण के लिए:
“Is this apartment still available?”
अगर जवाब हाँ हो, तो आप आगे पूछ सकते हैं:
“Can I see the bathroom and the bedroom?”
फिर किसी detail पर:
“Does the rent include water?”
और अगर आपको जगह पसंद आए, तो:
“I’d like to think about it and get back to you.”
यह आख़िरी line बहुत काम की है। इसमें आप overpromise नहीं करते, और सामने वाले को भी साफ़ message मिलता है कि आप अभी final decision नहीं दे रहे हैं।
अगर apartment visit के बाद landlord या agent को message करना हो, तो Landlord को समस्या बताने के लिए English phrases और घर बदलते समय काम आने वाले English phrases भी useful context देते हैं।
