कभी-कभी आपको सिर्फ इतना पूछना होता है: यह available है या नहीं? यही बात English में कई तरह से कही जा सकती है, और हर phrase का mood थोड़ा अलग होता है। कुछ phrases सीधी और casual होती हैं, कुछ ज़्यादा polite लगती हैं। दुकान में, counter पर, या customer support को message करते समय यह फर्क काम आता है।
सबसे आम phrases
- Is this available?
- Do you have this?
- Is it in stock?
- Is this item available in another size/color?
- Do you have any more of these?
Is this available? सबसे सीधा और बहुत common सवाल है। आप किसी product को दिखाकर यह पूछ सकते हैं। Do you have this? भी बहुत natural है, खासकर जब आप दुकान में हाथ में item लेकर पूछ रहे हों। Is it in stock? तब ज़्यादा काम आता है जब आप inventory या stock के बारे में पूछना चाहते हैं।
अगर आपको exact item नहीं, बल्कि वही चीज़ किसी दूसरे version में चाहिए, तो ऐसे बोल सकते हैं:
- Do you have this in a larger size?
- Do you have this in blue?
- Is this model available in black?
- Do you have any similar ones?
यहाँ ध्यान देने वाली बात यह है कि English में लोग अक्सर बहुत लंबा वाक्य नहीं बोलते। बस product की तरफ इशारा करके एक छोटा सा सवाल काफी होता है।
Polite और practical versions
अगर बात थोड़ी formal या polite रखनी हो, तो आप ये phrases इस्तेमाल कर सकते हैं:
- Excuse me, is this available?
- Could you please tell me if you have this in stock?
- May I know if this is available right now?
Could you please... और May I know... ज़्यादा polite लगते हैं। ये तब अच्छे हैं जब आप किसी staff member से बात कर रहे हों और थोड़ी respect वाली tone रखना चाहते हों। रोज़मर्रा की shopping में Do you have this? भी बिल्कुल ठीक है, इसलिए हर बार ज़रूरत से ज़्यादा formal होने की जरूरत नहीं होती।
Online shopping या message में कैसे पूछें
Online seller, chat support, या WhatsApp message में आप ऐसे लिख सकते हैं:
- Hi, is this still available?
- Do you have this item in stock?
- Is the red color available?
- Please let me know if this is available.
अगर आप reply का इंतज़ार कर रहे हैं, तो still available बहुत natural लगता है। इसका मतलब है कि item अभी भी मिल रहा है या नहीं।
अगर item out of stock है, तो जवाब कुछ ऐसा हो सकता है:
- Sorry, it is out of stock.
- We don’t have it at the moment.
- It’s currently unavailable.
इन जवाबों को समझना भी ज़रूरी है, क्योंकि कई बार English सीखने वाले सिर्फ सवाल पूछना सीखते हैं, लेकिन जवाब पहचानना छोड़ देते हैं।
छोटी-छोटी गलतियाँ जिनसे बचना अच्छा है
कई लोग Available this is? या Have you this? जैसे sentence बना देते हैं। ये natural नहीं लगते। English में आम तौर पर Is this available? और Do you have this? ज़्यादा सही और smooth लगते हैं।
एक और बात: अगर आप किसी specific चीज़ के बारे में पूछ रहे हैं, तो item का नाम साफ बोलें। जैसे:
- Do you have this shirt in medium?
- Is this charger available for iPhone?
- Do you have this book in English?
बहुत general सवाल कभी-कभी confusing हो सकता है, खासकर बड़ी दुकान में।
