किसी चीज़ की कीमत पूछना रोज़मर्रा की English का बहुत काम आने वाला हिस्सा है। दुकान में, ऑनलाइन shopping में, taxi booking में या service लेते समय आपको बस सही सवाल पूछना होता है। अगर आप Hindi speaker हैं और English सीख रहे हैं, तो यह topic आपको ज़्यादा आत्मविश्वास देगा।

जब आप किसी चीज़ की कीमत पूछना चाहते हैं, तो ये phrases बहुत उपयोगी हैं:
- How much is this? — यह कितने का है?
- How much does it cost? — इसकी कीमत कितनी है?
- What is the price of this? — इसकी कीमत क्या है?
- How much are these? — ये कितने के हैं?
- Can you tell me the price? — क्या आप कीमत बता सकते हैं?
How much is this? एक item के लिए बहुत common और natural phrase है। अगर सामने एक से ज़्यादा चीज़ें हैं, तो How much are these? कहना बेहतर होता है।
दुकान में इस्तेमाल होने वाले सवाल
कभी-कभी आपको सिर्फ कीमत नहीं, बल्कि छूट, बिल की राशि या आख़िरी रकम भी पूछनी होती है। ऐसे में ये lines काम आएँगी:

- The price is 1,000 rupees. — कीमत 1,000 रुपये है।
- That will be 750 rupees. — वह 750 रुपये होंगे।
- It’s on sale. — यह sale पर है।
- The discount is 10 percent. — discount 10 percent है।
- The total comes to 1,250 rupees. — कुल 1,250 रुपये हुए।
अगर आप card से payment करते हैं, तो कार्ड से पेमेंट करने के लिए English phrases भी साथ में सीखें, ताकि payment के समय hesitation न हो।
bargaining और negotiation के लिए useful lines
कई markets में लोग politely कम कीमत पूछते हैं। आप ऐसे बोल सकते हैं:

return, refund और exchange से जुड़ी कीमत वाली बातें
कभी-कभी price पूछने के बाद आपको return, refund या exchange के बारे में भी बात करनी पड़ती है। ऐसे में यह phrases काम आते हैं:

तीसरा conversation example: bargaining

अक्सर पूछे जाने वाले सवाल
क्या मैं सिर्फ “How much?” कह सकता/सकती हूँ?
हाँ, कई situations में How much? भी समझ में आ जाता है। लेकिन पूरा phrase जैसे How much is this? या How much does it cost? ज़्यादा clear और polite लगता है।
“Price” और “cost” में क्या फर्क है?
Price आम तौर पर किसी चीज़ की listed कीमत के लिए इस्तेमाल होता है। Cost ज़्यादा general है और यह पूछने के लिए अच्छा है कि कुल कितना लगेगा। दोनों रोज़मर्रा की English में बहुत common हैं।
