Natural Conversation में इस्तेमाल होने वाले English Filler Words

Learn common English filler words like well, you know, actually, I mean, like, and so, with practical Hindi explanations and natural conversation examples.

अगर किसी English conversation में आप थोड़ी देर सोचते हुए बोलना चाहते हैं, तो हमेशा चुप रहना ज़रूरी नहीं होता। ऐसे समय पर कुछ filler words काम आते हैं—जैसे well, you know, actually, I mean, like, so।

> Well, I’m not sure about that.

यह sentence सीधे “I’m not sure” से कम abrupt लगता है।

You know — जब आप मान रहे हों कि सामने वाला context समझ रहा है:

> It was a bit awkward, you know?

यह phrase informal है। Formal presentation में इसे बार-बार बोलना थोड़ा ढीला लग सकता है।

Actually — जब आप अपने sentence को सुधार रहे हों या थोड़ा साफ़ कर रहे हों:

> Actually, I meant Monday, not Tuesday.

यहाँ actually का काम correction है। इसे हर जगह “असल में” जैसे भारी अंदाज़ में समझने की ज़रूरत नहीं है।

I mean — जब आप अपनी बात को फिर से explain करते हैं:

> I mean, it was not a big problem.

यह phrase सोचते-सोचते अपनी बात को थोड़ा और साफ़ करने में मदद करता है।

Like — spoken English में यह कई बार filler की तरह आता है:

> I was, like, really tired after work.

यह conversational है। लिखित English में या professional speech में इसका excess इस्तेमाल अच्छा नहीं लगता।

So — जब आप बात शुरू कर रहे हों या नया point जोड़ रहे हों:

> So, what do we do now?

उसी हिसाब से well, actually, I mean, या so चुनें। बस इतना ध्यान रहे कि filler word आपकी बात को संभाले, आपकी बात को ढके नहीं।
